Green Action School
The Green Action Certification for schools is a student-led initiative where students from your school participate in green audits. It is an exciting initiative designed to engage students in meaningful environmental actions that contribute to making their school a more sustainable and eco-friendlier place. This programme gives students hands-on experience in environmental auditing, helping them develop critical skills in data collection, analysis and problem-solving, while making a tangible impact on their school’s sustainability practices.

Programme Overview
40 students from Grades 6 and above will take on leadership roles in conducting environmental audits in four key areas of sustainability:
- Waste Audit: Students will evaluate the school’s waste generation, recycling practices and disposal methods. They will identify opportunities to reduce waste and propose solutions such as improved recycling programmes, composting or reducing the use of single-use plastics.
- Water Audit: This audit will involve assessing the school’s water consumption patterns, detecting wastage and suggesting conservation strategies. Students will look into areas like water-efficient fixtures, rainwater harvesting and water-saving practices across the school.
- Energy Audit: Students will track the school’s energy consumption, explore ways to increase energy efficiency and investigate the use of renewable energy. They will identify energy-saving opportunities such as optimizing lighting, utilizing solar power, etc.
- Green Cover Audit: The focus will be on evaluating the green spaces in the school, including gardens, trees and any efforts to increase biodiversity.
